Here are all the Windows 11 build 22000.51 bugs to watch out for

Microsoft released its latest Windows 10 preview build, Windows 10 build 22000.51, to Windows Insiders on March 6th. This build comes more than a month after the last preview build, and follows the release of build 20000. Additionally, it contains a bug list, or “What’s new in the Windows 10 preview build” section, which outlines the most important fixes that Insiders can expect to see in the near future.

We have done a full check of the new operating system build 22000.51, and have come up with a list of bugs that you should keep an eye out for.

We have been posting regular updates to the Windows 11 Insider Program since the Windows 10 launch E3, and this week there is a new build coming out. What’s new? Well, not much. It’s a build with so few changes that it was already released to Windows Insiders in the last four days. Its a build that is mostly a “tech preview”, kinda like what we got from Windows 10 preview 1. We have some new bugs in this build, so here is a list of them.

At Windows Report, we have a strange passion for bugs, errors and the like. Personally, I’ve been hunting for bugs and issues since the launch of the site.

We have made it our mission to collect all these bugs, especially when it comes to major Windows updates, because we know Microsoft is watching and listening to us. And because we all love Windows, it’s important that you use the Feedback Hub to let Microsoft developers know what’s wrong.

But we also invite you to share your thoughts on the first version of Windows 11 Preview in the comments section.

Official release for the first version of Windows 10

First of all, as always, Microsoft has reported all the problems of which it is aware as follows:

Task window

  • The taskbar is not displayed on multiple monitors, but this will be fixed in a future release.
  • The preview window may not show the entire window when you hover the mouse pointer over Task View on the taskbar.

  • When you upgrade from a device with multiple user accounts to Windows 11, the settings do not start.
  • A small set of old settings pages, as well as some bugs, will be fixed in future versions.
  • The Power Mode setting does not appear on the Power and Battery page.
  • A brief green flash may appear when you start the Settings application.
  • When using Quick Settings to change accessibility settings, the settings interface may not save the selected state.

  • In some cases, you cannot enter text when using Startup Search or the taskbar. If you experience this problem, press Win + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box, then close it.
  • We are working on a solution that prevents applications from being deployed at startup, the command line in file explorer from disappearing, or links from being hidden. To solve this problem, restart your computer.

Search on

  • Application icons in the search bar may not load, but appear as gray squares.
  • If you hover the mouse over the search icon in the taskbar, the third-to-last search will not load and will remain empty.
  • After tapping the search icon on the taskbar, the search bar may not open. In this case, restart Windows Explorer and open the search window again.
  • Hovering over the search icon in the taskbar may not display recent searches. To resolve this issue, restart the unit.
  • The search bar may appear black and show no content below the search bar.

  • Scaling the system text proportionally scales all widgets and may cause widgets to be cut off.
  • Running links from a widget array may not bring applications to the foreground.
  • When using the screen reader/narrator, widgets may not display content correctly.
  • The widget panel may appear empty. To get around this, you can log out and then log back in.
  • If you use the Outlook client with a Microsoft account, changes in Calendar and Tasks may not be synchronized in real time with the widgets.
  • Widgets may not display properly sized on external monitors. In this case, you can launch widgets via touch input or the key combination WIN + W, first on the main monitor of the device and then on the additional monitors.
  • After quickly adding various widgets from the widget settings, some widgets may not be visible on the map.

Microsoft Store

  • The configuration button may not yet work in some limited scenarios.
  • Ratings and reviews are not available for some applications.

So these are all official bugs that Microsoft is aware of. And they are generally mild in nature and don’t affect any important areas for new Windows 11 users.

Let’s see what the first users sent us…..

First Windows 11 bugs collected from real users

Call of Duty players get a fictitious ban

More and more rumors on Reddit suggest that using an early version of Windows could get you banned from online games, as the anti-cheat checker could flag your system.

Here is a list of other games that may be in the same situation:

  • Battlefield series
  • PUBG
  • Rainbow Six: Headquarters

But this may affect all games supported by BattlEye.

No local user or account

On the Microsoft support forums, someone is complaining that their local users and accounts have disappeared.

Endless restart cycle of Explorer.exe

The new Explorer has been completely redesigned, but it also has some flaws. User GamerZero stated the following:

After updating to Windows 11 Insiders Preview (normal update in Settings/Update Center), I am having problems with windows explorer.exe. Right after installing win11 it went into an endless reboot cycle, I tried shutting it down and running it myself with admin rights via task manager (windows+R doesn’t seem to work, no win+ keystrokes either). Also try using sfc /scannow and restarting the computer. However, my explorer.exe does not work, nor does anything related to it such as the desktop.

The right mouse button context menu is hidden

This time, another user noticed a small bug with the right mouse button:

I upgraded to Windows 11 today. However, when I pressed the right mouse button, I noticed that the right mouse button context menu was hidden. You must press Shift +F10 to display the full right-click context menu. Sorry, how can I make Windows11 display the right-click context menu by default, like in Windows10?

Problems with the processor

MarkHerridge noted that the first version might play too much with your processor:

In the new Win 11 Pro, my CPU runs at least 3600MHz and goes up to 4175MHz when I move the mouse, temperature 36/40c. In addition, the task manager indicates that it only uses 2 to 4% of the processor. I have tried minimum boot without success, everything else works fine, I have not installed anything since the Win 11 Pro boot/install. It must be a mistake because my fans are working harder than usual.

These are just a few examples of what caught our attention, and we’ll keep you posted on what’s new. So don’t hesitate to contribute.
